I’ve been running this blog for several years, and I’m so grateful for each of you who stop by to read, chat, and share your experiences.

I’ve recently updated my webpage. It LOOKS similar, but ACTS different. If you were previously signed up to receive my blog via email, that information was lost.

Would you mind signing up again? You can go here, scan down the right hand side, and put your email addy in the box under “Subscribe to Blog Via Email.” The top box is to subscribe to the newsletter (which has retained all names). The second box is so you can sign up to receive the blog.

Thank you so much for your help! You all are a wonderful group, and I very much appreciate you.

Blessings,

V

Family

Midweek Inspiration – Family

I am inspired by my family! They are such a help to me, and I’m grateful that I have DSCN7567them.

This is a picture of me, my mom and my sister. My mom recently moved to our small town. She has been such a help to me. She puts labels on envelopes, buys stamps, and carries packages to the post office. She saves me HOURS every week. But more than that, I know I can call and talk to her anytime. And that is a BIG help.

My sister is a reader, like I am. She has been so encouraging to me since I’ve begun writing. She’s also offered to help at quilt shows and book signings.

Is there someone you’re especially inspired by? Someone you’re grateful God has placed in your life?

Today I wanted to highlight my friend’s book, Saving Gideon. Written by Amy Lillard,savinggideon_3d this book is set in an Amish community in Oklahoma. I loved Amy’s “About Amy” page on her website. Visit it here and you’ll see why.

As to Saving Gideon (great title), here’s her Continue reading

2013 Releases

What’s Ahead in 2013

I think I mentioned that I was excited about 2013. With so much support from you all, and the backing of 3 wonderful publishers, I think this is going to be an awesome year.

So what IS ahead? I’m glad you asked.

This year I have 3 books to write and turn in.

  1. In March I’ll turn in the first book in my Amish Artisan series. These are cozy mysteries (like my Shipshewana series) and will be set in Middlebury Indiana.
  2. I also am THRILLED to tell you that I will be writing a novella for a collection of 4 short Amish stories. My co-writers are Beth Wiseman, Tricia Goyer, and Kathleen Fuller. The collection is tentatively titled An Amish Garden. My part is due in May.
  3. I’ll spend the rest of the year working on my second book for the Amish Artisan series.

Here’s the fun part. I also have 3 books releasing in 2013. Yeah! Books for you to read.

  1. A Home for Lydia is the 2nd book in my Pebble Creek series, and will be in stores by 2-1-13.

  2. A Wedding for Julia is the 3rd book in the same Pebble Creek series. I believe it will be in stores 7-1-13.
  3. And lastly, The Christmas Quilt (sequel to A Simple Amish Christmas) will release in October. If you enjoyed reading about Annie and Samuel, you’re going to love this book.

That’s my year! At least the part I know about. We never really know what God has planned. I want to thank you all for being such an important part of my writing journey.

Blessings,

2012 in review

In Review, 2012

I’m going to interrupt our regularly scheduled blog long enough to tell you that you inspire me!

Click below and you’ll see a report which summarizes our year of meeting together on this blog. Wowzer! You all absolutely rock, and you do help me to stay excited about writing books. I believe I might have the best job in the world.

A special thanks to my top 5 commenters. I have sent you an email.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 48,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 11 Film Festivals

Click here to see the complete report.

Thank you again, for making my writing career possible.

Blessings and more in 2013.

I wanted to offer a short post and say “Happy New Years.”

I do realize I’m a few days early.

Thank you for participating in my writing life this last year. I’m looking forward to several fun, new things in 2013, and I can’t wait to tell you about them.

But I will wait. For today, it’s enough to say Happy New Years!

Blessings,

V
